Karna -sixth sense and virtue.

Karna
Karna, the first son of Kunti, is Attachment(Raga), the inclination that dwells on pleasure. Hence his friendship with Duryodhana (Material Desire), and his battle with his half-brothers, the Pandavas. He is the sixth sense of the mind.Naturally sixth sense is an independent phase of mind.Karna is in direct conflict with self as the self wants to control the sixth sense.Arjuna was thus in direct conflict with Karna. Karna has the deepest regards for krishna. He never attacked any of Shri Krishna's territory when he was on roll to win entire world in battle field. Lord Krishna also had immense regard for Karna. It was Lord Krishna who told Karna abt his 'real identity' as son of Suryadev & Kunti. Though Krishna made Arjun aware of his duties when he was reluctant to kill armourless Karna. This is reflective of the basic fact that consciousness is always aware of the plane of sixth sense though for most the plane remains hidden. Interestingly that in placing karna in context,he has indicated that he is born of the Sun, the light of the consciousness of the spiritual eye, he is brought up by a charioteer, in a place other than where he was born. The sixth sense remains hidden from our view in the early phase of life. This is a significant aspect as Karna comes into reckoning only after the princes need to prove their mettle He is brought up in the Pons Varoli, the seat of Manas, the sense mind, or Dhritarashtra. The word Karna also means “the helm of a ship”; hence Vyaasa is indicating that Karna can be steered inwards through the spiritual eye, to the calm waters of the spiritual consciousness, or outwards into the stormy waters of attachments and sense forces.
