Archery only for the greatest warriors;

It is a matter of common perception that the greatest warriors of hindu mythology are archers.The plot of mahabharata and ramayana revolves around warriors who were archers.Rama,Meghnada,Arjuna,Bheeshma,Karna,Abhimanyu were the greatest archers of History.It is a known fact that the weapons used in the 10th and 11th century AD were more of swords and lances.But why has archery been given so much predominance in hindu and mayan civilizations.This is of high significance and need to be dealt in the physical level.
I would give four instances of why we can believe archery is given predominance over the rest.
a)Firstly,the drawn bow is a paradigm of the peace from which the War and indeed all manifestation, proceeds; for all the tensions are held in equilibrium. Balanced in harmony are the three gunas, or cosmic “strains”: the upward tension or tendency, called Sattwa — that which strives toward the light; the downward, called Tamas, which pulls toward darkness and obscurity; and the outward or fiery tendency of Rajas. It is from the interplay of these three gunas that all manifestation takes its rise. Thus the loosing of the arrow, in which the three strains are simultaneously released resulting in the tremendous burst of energy.
b)Secondly ,which describes the horizon of earth.The thread is attached to the arrow, recalling the passage which describes the source as “the Sun Whose ray doth bind us all like jewels upon a string”. The words “ray” and “rain” are closely related, for the rain is a straight “ray”, or manifestation of God’s Light on earth as well as blessings relieving the earth of its darkness and dryness at the same time. Sun is revered by both the vedic and the mayan civilization and was considered the source of happiness and sustainance for the entire planetary system.
c)The arrow is here associated with the needle, and its flight-end with the “eye”, the four quarters being “sewn together”. Thus we border upon the solar symbolism of the needle and of sewing, which takes us beyond our present theme.
d)The arrows are also a symbolism of the neural network ;nerve system or nerve stimulus.Arrow remains a metaphor that for the electrical impulse that is present to transmit information among two neural synapses.An apt demonstration is that of arjuna was an archer and arjuna remains the self.Arjuna a symbolism of self is the greatest proponent.Our body combines through various electro mechanical impulses for the proper maintence of the organic system.
It is also of immense significance that Rama a warrior was an archer and krishna became the greatest friend of arjuna who was an archer.An arrow head does not only represent a weapon but it is one with penetration.Wisdom enters our body and mind through penetration.Ramayana and mahabharata talks of two different modes by which wisdom and consciousness enters our mind.In the first instance Rama fought the war ;God fights his own war through weapons ;where the weapons are physically shot by God.In mahabharata ;Krishna also fights his own war against adharma.But in this case Krishna fights battles where the arrow is shot by a physical being .Wisdom is transfered among senses under control of a supreme entity but the all powerful does not throw the arrows but waits for proper interaction among senses.
